Not attendance alone
Sitting through a course is not enough: you need evidence that matches the competence.
HANDS-ON TRAINING 9 HOURS
An online course for designers, training providers and employers
Learn to design, assess and manage microcredentials — in three weeks, with a method you can apply in your organisation.
IT’S NOT ABOUT THE BADGE
A microcredential has value when it states the competence clearly, shows how it was verified, and can be understood by those who receive, assess or recognise it.
Sitting through a course is not enough: you need evidence that matches the competence.
The platform comes after learning objectives, assessment criteria and clear accountability.
Value appears when guidelines become workable methods and repeatable systems.
ACTIVE CLIENTS

ONE COURSE, MANY DIFFERENT CONTEXTS
Contexts differ; the need does not: move from interest to a coherent system.
THE PROBLEM TO SOLVE
Align learning objectives, learning activities and assessment before you involve educators, partners and learners.
WHY THIS COURSE
Everyone talks about microcredentials — applying them well in your own sector or organisation is still the hard part.
Some people see a microcredential as a badge; others as a digital credential awarded after a short learning activity.
Designing one takes specific competences and criteria, clear decisions, and well-defined accountability.
The European Council has set out key elements for a shared language on microcredentials — worth getting familiar with.
Our trainers belong to an international working group, the World Alliance for Microcredentials Foundation, focused on definition, adoption and sound practice.
This course exists to advance a microcredential model built on quality and rigorous competence assessment.
Putting microcredentials to work in your context means joining a global shift: reshaping how learning happens, and putting competences, people and communities at the centre of what you offer.
JOIN THE SHIFT
Confused definitions and guidance
Badges as attendance certificates
Unclear roles and criteria
Hard conversations with stakeholders
One decision framework
Competences tied to evidence
A Manage–Design–Assess cycle
A shared language
THE PROGRAMME
Each module addresses a distinct role. Together they form the system a microcredential needs to work.

Guidelines are a solid starting point. The course connects management, design and assessment into one method, applies it through practical work, and includes assessment of your challenges.
You also earn your first three professional microcredentials as Microcredential Manager, Assessor and Designer.
No. Before technology, you need clarity on competences, evidence, criteria and responsibilities. That is what the course builds.
We use our reference platform, MICOO, which you get free access to for managing microcredentials and course activities.
Yes. You can issue badges or microcredentials on the platform you prefer. The course focuses on the credibility of what you issue and the process behind it.
The methods you learn can be applied however you choose. A simple spreadsheet can be enough to start, but organised credential issuance usually needs a fuller system.
The difference with MICOO is that it is built for microcredentials: what you need lives in one system. With other badge or digital credential platforms, you often still need separate tools for management, assessment and related work.
No. It is for anyone who needs — or wants — to apply microcredentials in their organisation: training providers, HR and L&D, companies managing upskilling and reskilling, public administrations, regional programmes and European projects.
By successfully completing the challenges, you earn three professional microcredentials: Microcredential Manager, Microcredential Assessor and Microcredential Designer.
Credentials are issued on blockchain, downloadable in multiple formats and verifiable online.
Three hours a week for three weeks: two hours live online and about one hour of remote activity.
We currently accept credit card and SEPA bank transfer.
Yes. For multiple participants or a dedicated edition, contact MICOO to confirm schedule, language and the format that fits your organisation.
